5G Wireless Looming, Health Concerns Abound

There is a race going on in the midst of day-to-day life. Everyone on this planet will at some point in the near future be affected by this race. The race is the implementation of the 5G or Fifth Generation Wireless Communications. Information technology, the big giants of wireless telecommunications with the U.S. Government are in a battle against China to expand and implement 5G wireless communication technology into the infrastructure across the States and eventually impacting the whole world.
The desired development of 5G infrastructure by the United States is to ban Chinese telecommunications equipment in our country for national security, military operations, and to mitigate security risks, along with economic and commercial development. Speed is at the foremost concern. As consumers, we are told that 5G will enhance the speed of information technology, make things safer, and implement high quality broadband across the country in cities and rural communities alike.
Areas of growth are to include Smart Cities, autonomous vehicles, Smart healthcare with advanced medical imaging and diagnostics, genetic engineering of drugs and treatment protocols, Smart shipping, receiving and drone technology, and widespread use of virtual reality. There is a lot of excitement with the technology, but also questions especially with the effect of 5G on health and safety to humans, the environment, weather patterns, global warming, insects and pollination and its effect on all other living creatures on the Earth. In the February 2019 Senate Commerce Hearings, Senator Richard Blumenthal raised several questions about 5G health effects and was met by scarce, inadequate answers from the FCC, FDA, and the wireless carriers. Despite this lack of response, 5G is being rolled out.
Numerous researchers, scientists of many different fields, meteorologists, and health care professionals around the world have expressed concerns about 5G and Wi-Fi non-thermal, low intensity ionizing radiation. Individuals in authority outside the big tech industries stress more research must occur before implementation. Many experts openly state that current research with Wi-Fi has already proven harmful and the implementation of 5G technology and infrastructure regardless of whether or not you use it is harmful and more disastrous than current Wi-Fi concerns.
Concerns affect human health especially the vulnerable, expectant mothers, unborn children, babies, youth, elderly, and those who are already ill are considered the most vulnerable. Results suggest the effects are cumulative. Here are some additional findings.
Scientists demonstrated the effects of EMF exposure to the heart and circulatory system. In this study published July 2019, office workers underwent evaluations of heart rhythm and blood pressure. After controlling for other factors like stress, it was found that men, more so than women, who had 60 minutes or more use of mobile phones per day had higher systolic blood pressure levels throughout the day and night, and also had higher diastolic levels during the day.
Women with high EMF exposures had more concerns with heart rhythm abnormalities rather than elevated blood pressure. The findings pertained to just the immediate effects. The effects of long-term EMF exposure (months, years, decades) to neurology and physiology of the heart and cardiovascular system are unknown.
One of the most comprehensive studies and revealing reviews is a July 2018 Environmental Research study entitled “Wi-Fi is an important threat to human health.” The author, Dr. Martin Pall, PhD, Professor Emeritus of Biochemistry and Basic Medical Sciences, Washington State University, has delved into the depths of oxidative stress research for almost 50 years on various topics like congestive heart failure, chronic fatigue syndrome, multiple chemical sensitivity, and nitric oxide/peroxynitrite (NO/ONOO- cycle) oxidative stress. His research also covers the oxidative stress effects of EMF and wireless technology.
In his recent article, Dr. Pall provides analysis of 23 controlled scientific studies. He outlines and systematically demonstrates that “Wi-Fi causes oxidative stress, sperm/testicular damage, neuropsychiatric effects including EEG (brain wave) changes, apoptosis (cell death), cellular DNA damage, endocrine changes, and calcium overload.” Furthermore, EMF effects are often cumulative and may impact young people, especially infants and children.
Additional findings cited in his analyses include that prenatal Wi-Fi exposure (in rodents) adversely affects neurological development with deficits in motor and emotional behaviors in the offspring that lasts into adult age. There were findings of altered acetylcholine and GABA neurotransmitter functions and learning difficulties.
Endocrine changes with catecholamines hormones (adrenalin, noradrenalin) were found. These hormones affect your autonomic nervous system and adrenal gland stress response, wakefulness, blood pressure, and more. Sex steroid hormone changes occur with prolactin, progesterone, and estrogen dysfunction. In addition, degenerative changes to the pancreas endocrine (insulin) and exocrine (digestion) function have been found.
Lower levels of melatonin, increased levels of oxidative stress, and apoptosis or cell death resulted from EMF stressed cells. The effect for you is diminished ability to sleep and lower quality of sleep because of how EMF causes increased release of adrenalin stress hormones at night and disruption of melatonin production and levels. The final result is increased concerns with physical and mental fatigue.
One major finding is that EMF causes cells to release calcium inappropriately. Calcium in the wrong place at the wrong time in tissues is an oxidative stress. When this happens, it is highly irritating and damaging to mitochondria, nerves, cellular components, and DNA.
Other reports from just a few years ago show that 2G was harmful to the brain. Brain changes were identified in mice exposed to 2G wireless mobile phone EMF. In this 2016 study, the rodents were exposed to 2G mobile phone radiation for 48 minutes per day for 30-180 days. At the end of the study, the hippocampus (memory, navigation, emotions) of the brain showed fewer nerves in the tissue and were smaller the longer they were exposed to 2G.
The telecommunications industry representatives and groups deny any health impacts of Wi-Fi. Dr Pall and many others readily refute these reports.
Scientists have increasingly pointed to concerns with honey bees and other pollinators as they are affected by wireless radiation from cell phones and cell towers. They have found that when honey bees are exposed to EMF, changes occur with life cycle, foraging in field and nest behaviors, mating and reproduction, and hatching. This is thought to be a very significant reason for Colony Collapse Disorder and the decline of honey bees and other insects.
In 2016, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced 5G. Since that time there are now over 300,000 5G cell stations in the country with hundreds of thousands or millions more wireless connections to be added in the next few years.
5G requires shorter, higher frequency microwave lengths which require different structures. Rather than large cell towers miles apart, numerous smaller wireless connections will be dotting neighborhoods on average 500 feet apart. As you travel about, look closely and you will start to see them. They will be at the top of utility poles as a small box or cylinder or even at the bottom of the pole. This is going to be your new normal if 5G has its way.
In just the span of the past few decades, across the globe, we are facing epidemic levels of cancer, autoimmune diseases, metabolic syndrome, obesity, autism spectrum disorders, mental health disorders, chronic Lyme’s and mold toxicity, and neurological disorders at ever increasing rates. Cancer statistics alone are frightening. Today, 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 women will have cancer in their lifetime according to the CDC.
Although it is a myth, think about the experiment of the frog in boiling water. We can learn from the metaphor. If we are all of a sudden plunged into something that is overwhelmingly dangerous, the immediate response is to get out of there. Yet, if something insidiously sneaks up on you, it is hard to see until something happens or someone points it out to you. By that time, the adverse effects have taken place. High tech brings many thrills and conveniences, but what about behind the scenes.
Time will tell us just how harmful 5G is to the planet. Research already shows us the effects of 2G, 3G, and 4G with many credible scientists seriously concerned about 5G adverse health effects. This article is not to provoke unfounded fear, but rather raise awareness and get you to make choices that protect your body, your family, neighborhood and the vitality of this planet. We are told that humans are living longer than our ancestors before us, yet health care costs in our country alone are astronomical. How well will you fare? Aging well is a different ball game now than just a few decades ago.
Remove devices and reduce exposure especially in the bedroom or other areas you spend a lot of time. Do not sleep with a wireless device by your bed. Keep it at least 8 feet away from your head when you are sleeping. Those who are EMF sensitive or who want to reduce exposure often power off and unplug their devices or even switch off the main breaker to their bedroom at night when practical.
Consider “earthing” or grounding techniques or devices to help your body’s natural electrical activity and block EMF effects. Spend time outdoors in nature to expose your body to the earth’s natural electromagnetic field to help rebalance it. Clothing, curtains, window coverings, blankets, and other personal items and technology devices exist that are designed to neutralize or block EMFs.

Coming to a City Near You
CNN reports that 5G is already present in about 20 metropolitan cities in the country. The technology is heralded with the excitement of faster, better technology at your fingertips. You can get it now from Verizon and AT&T. Plans are in the works for T-Mobile and Sprint. For you Minnesota readers or visitors, 5G is available in downtown Minneapolis and the US Bank Stadium. Even if you don’t have a 5G accessible device, you are or will be exposed to 5G Wi-Fi EMF and the current networks. Also note, that 3G devices are being phased out by many companies by 2020 and 2021 and will no longer work. 3G has less EMF than 4G and 5G.Today’s Stressors
